Over The Falls – Meet The HFA Tax Team
Greetings from the High Falls tax department. It's that time of year again: the Super Bowl has come and gone, March Madness is just around the corner, and all are looking forward to the arrival of Spring and... spending hours upon hours filing our taxes!
The IRS estimates that the average American spends 11 to 13 hours each year gathering their tax documents and trying to make sense of the 6,871 pages of the IRS tax code. We at High Falls Advisors are here to help guide you through this daunting task. From identifying tax planning opportunities to sitting down with you to prepare your return, we are eager to help you work through this process and hopefully generate some tax savings.
We thought it might be a good opportunity to give you a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the HFA tax team. In addition to some of the familiar faces in this picture—Randi, Dariya, Tim, and Jen (missing: Ken & Jim E.), there are a few faces you may not recognize—Kevin, Raechel, Ann, Ray, and Caleb.
Kevin McPherson is starting his second tax season here at High Falls as Tax Leader and Director of Tax. Kevin is a CPA with 23+ years of experience. Prior to joining HFA, he was a tax principal at a local CPA firm.
Raechel Taddei is also starting her second tax season with HFA as a Tax Manager. Raechel is an IRS Enrolled Agent and a QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor. She brings 35+ years of client experience having last worked as a Tax Manager at a local CPA firm. She is our go-to person for all things tax.
Ann Lettis has been working at HFA for the last 10 tax seasons doing tax input. She is often the person you’ll hear from if there is a question or if we are missing a document. Ann is an IRS Enrolled Agent, and in addition to working with us during tax season, she has her own tax practice.
Ray Macera is a tax reviewer and tax preparer who has been with us every tax season since 2015. Ray is a retired trust officer of a local bank. In addition to his incredible attention to detail, Ray is also our trust and estate tax expert.
Our newest addition to the firm is Caleb Harris. Caleb is a Junior at SUNY Brockport where he is pursuing his degree in Business Finance and Marketing. In addition to being assigned special projects, Caleb is assisting in the tax department with scanning and tax return assembly and is learning some of the basics of tax preparation. If you’re wondering who Caleb is in the photograph, in addition to being the youngest, he’s also the only with a tie. Jim E. and Jim M. would be proud. The rest of us haven’t returned to the pre-Covid dress code!
